Sizemore No. 1

No. 11057

Martha P. Blevins being first duly sworn deposes and says:

I am 53 years of age, I reckon. I claim Indian blood through my father. I claim Cherokee Indian blood. I live in Smyth County, but was born and raised in Wilkes County, N.C. My father was born and raised in Wilkes County, N.C. He claimed his Indian blood through his father Owen Hall, who also lived and died in Wilkes County, N.C. My father and I never received any money from the Government on account of our Indian blood. My father first told me that I had Indian blood. He said that my great grandmother was a daughter of Old Ned Sizemore. I do not remember her name. Neither my father nor my grand father ever lived with the Indians that I know, but always lived in Wilkes County, N.C.
